Why Am I Writing This Review?
Being a senior reviews editor, I’m always looking out for what kind of reviews are available for popular electronic products. I realized that a handful of popular products such as the Panasonic Viera TH 42px80u don’t have any reviews that do them justice, so I thought I’d fill the gap and let you know what I think.
So Why Is Everyone Talking About This Panasonic Viera HDTV?
Well when it comes to getting a great bargain on a top-of-the-range high definition tv set, Panasonic’s range of plasmas are hard to beat, with the Panasonic Viera TH 42px80u 42 Inch 720p Plasma HDTV being a great example. Lacking 1080p resolution means next to nothing here as the difference in quality is barely noticeable on a 42 inch screen.
The reviews on Amazon speak for themselves really. Out of 174 customer reviews, there are 122 five-stars and 39 four-stars, giving this set a grand total average of 4.5 stars. Click here to have a look at the Amazon reviews.
This set is mostly known for delivering excellent picture quality for its price. With deep blacks, bright whites and 29 billion colours you can’t go wrong! What are blacks? Having a deep shade of black means you have great quality during dark scenes – perfect for horror movies and sci-fi for example. And whites? – You guessed it! Great for providing vivid detail in those bright scenes.
“What about the bad?”
Well we experts have noted that colours aren’t as accurate as in more expensive rivals, with fewer adjustments and some ineffective noise reduction. The colour issues however, are offset by superb black levels – the best I’ve found at this price level!
